Danish Technological Institute (DTI) presented on 24 May, results of H2020 project RELaTED at an event we had called: The way to get more surplus heat, flexibility and low temperature in district heating starts in the buildings.

The event was co-organised with WE BUILD DENMARK, the Danish cluster for the building and construction sector. Metro Therm and DTI presented the RELaTED 3FS, BILTST and DHRHP solutions demonstrated in Denmark and Belgrade and the water heater technology required to meet DH supply temperatures of approximate 45°C and below.

The RELaTED results and tool based on Machine Learning and data of Tartu and Aarhus were presented as well. Further, we had invited Neogrid Technologies to present their software to control and optimize the heat consumption in district heating supplied buildings. This also included their demo setup of residential multi-family buildings which is part of the H2020 DomOS project.

Then, we looked into the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) as a measure to promote better control in buildings with district heating and cooling – which also included proposals for evaluating 3FS controls. WE BUILD DENMARK had the last word and encouraged the participants to take part in innovation and to use the technologies and the SRI actively to improve performance of district heating in buildings.

During and in between the sessions, there was positive interest and a lively discussion on the various topics. We were very glad to be able to gather a very competent and broad audience for the presentation of the RELaTED results and the Danish context for them. The feedback was good and we expect to have more activities together with some of the participants and together with WE BUILD DENMARK on district heating in buildings in the future.
